DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER (DVD Review) - 24/7/06

With George Lazenby leaving the role of Bond it was back to casting the role again - But on the off-chance that Sean Connery could be enticed back they offered it to him again; with a whacking jump in pay, a slice of the profits this time around and a 2-film option backing deal on any films Connery wanted to make - strangely enough he jumped and took the role one last time. Until of course he returned in Never Say Never Again an admirable re-make of Thunderball with a different set of Producers and another film company that would see it play up against the "official" Bond in Roger Moore's Octopussy. Diamonds Are Forever gave us another classic Bassey theme song and Blofeld puts in another appearance this time in Las Vegas in a caper involving diamond smuggling.
