RETRO FLASHBACK "Hot Shots! Part Deux" 7/7/06

Was never that taken with the original "Hot Shots!" movie but thought the follow-up sequel "Hot Shots! Part Deux" was hilarious. Can't believe that this "Rambo" parody is around fifteen years old now and has a whole host of piss-takes from various films of the period like "Basic Instinct" and "Terminator 2". This the Region 1 (USA) DVD even has some Special Features on it - Unlike the crappy vanilla UK Region 2 release. Suffice to say it has the whole comedy routine well laid out along the lines of "Airplane" and "Top Secret" onto the "Naked Gun" series and modern stuff like "Scary Movie" which also stars Charlie Sheen in parts 3 & 4. We even get Richard Crenna from the "Rambo" series taking a role and even Rowan Atkinson crop's up in a cameo. On the Special Features we get two Featurette's of the time "An Adventure In Filmmaking" and "Early Awareness" a background piece. Plus a selection of Trailer's for other Fox films and the Original "Hot Shots! Part Deux" Theatrical Trailer (Well worth watching!) Rating: (USA) PG-13/(Canada) PG. Close Captioned.
