RETRO FLASHBACK "Blow Out" 4/4/06

This month's Retro Flashback is a blast from the past in the career of John Travolta in a very good film by Brian De Palma "Blow Out" also starring Nancy Allen and a pre - "3rd Rock From The Sun" John Lithgow; who before he turned to comedy played a very mean line in bad guys, and play's a very nasty unhinged villain in this! The film is a basic conspiracy thriller with some very good twists and some very clever plotlines. I watched this many year's ago on Video and was happy it was made available on DVD - Unfortunately it's only been released as a vanilla disc here in the UK & the USA as well - The only thing being a Trailer as a bonus. At least it's the Widescreen Version that MGM have released with a variety of subtitles in French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, English & German. The start of the film immediately throw's you and it's more or less like that all the way through - on the edge of your seat, chewing your nails from one suspenseful scene to the next until the emotive ending. If you fancy a rough hour and a half of taut thriller then this could be for you!
