AMERICAN PIE PRESENTS BETA HOUSE (DVD Review) - 9/1/08

You always start to worry when a series starts getting released straight to DVD first and has taglines like "American Pie presents" but this 6th. entry in the ongoing saga is pretty outrageous and admittedly quite funny in places because I certainly laughed one or two times. Totally absurd of course because it isn't high art, doesn't push any message - it's just entertaining. With an 18 certificate some of the stuff shown on screen doesn't just push the envelope - it opens it!!
With most of the cast back from "Naked Mile" we also get a sense of continuity as Eugene Levy crops up as his character Mr. Levenstein which is always amusing to see. With a totally vanilla disc with no Special Features to be seen we at least get a 5.1. soundtrack to the romp on screen that follows. This time around various Stifler's are joining the Beta House Fraternity in a standoff against the geeks; as various madness ensues culminating in a Greek Olympiad as the two Fraternities fight off amongst each other, the winner claiming the other's Frat House for themselves. Put your brain on auto and enjoy the fun!
